Hill of Westerfilde

The Hill of Westerfilde is located on the border between Westerfilde/Bodelschwingh and Castrop-Rauxel. The Hainfriedhof farm is located on the hill and the Tante Amanda beer garden is at the foot of the hill. In earlier years, when I was a child and it snowed regularly, it was a popular tobogganing venue for young and old. Today you can enjoy a wonderful view over Dortmund from there, where you can of course also see the Westfalenstadion and the Florianturm. It is also probably one of the few places from which you can watch the New Year's Eve fireworks over Dortmund without any restrictions.
