Did you know? Children and young people have their own rights, not just the rights of adults? It doesn't matter what nation they belong to or what social class they come from. The rights they have are the same: THE RIGHTS OF CHILDREN.

Children have the right (...) to be artistically active.

(Article 28 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Children)

This is exactly what children and young people from Westerfilde and Bodelschwingh did. Together they have set a sign. A sign for their children's rights.

Since 2017, the young neighborhood residents have been decorating dull electrical boxes, gray facades and walls along Westerfilder Straße with images of their own rights.

They are accompanied by artists from the association die Urbanisten (The Urbanists) e. V. and teachers from the local educational institutions. Around 200 children and young people have now taken part in various workshops.

The outcome is the Street of Children's Rights - colorful, diverse and fair.
