This is us

We are committed to the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen party and participate in all questions of local politics, but are also happy to answer questions on state, federal and European politics. Axel Kunstmann has been the first district mayor of the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen party in the Mengede district council since fall 2020. The Green parliamentary group includes Jürgen Utecht (parliamentary group spokesperson), Isabella Knappmann (deputy parliamentary group spokesperson) and Katrin Petri.

Many party members and politically interested people from Westerfilde/Bodelschwingh and the other districts in Mengede work on a voluntary basis for the interests of the population. Local party spokesperson Thomas Rossen and Jörn Kusterer (deputy) manage the political local work. Contact us if you have any questions or suggestions.

Our goals

We are committed to preserving the green environment in the entire Mengede district and especially in Westerfilde and Bodelschwingh with its forests, open spaces and nature reserves. The calming of road traffic, the expansion of public transport and the cycle path network, but also the safeguarding of routes to schools and kindergartens are important to us. The expansion of school locations and the construction of new daycare centers and kindergartens should go hand in hand with short distances and quick accessibility.

We support the preservation of affordable housing as well as the creation of leisure facilities and meeting places for young and old.

We want to help people feel comfortable and enjoy living in Westerfilde and Bodelschwingh.
