Begegnungszentrum NebenAn - Speckestraße 1

The NebenAn neighborhood center is located in the heart of Westerfilde, on the market square on Speckestraße - A space for encounters, exchange and intercultural dialog. A large kitchen island invites you to cook together. A large table offers space for meetings, language courses, drinking coffee together, handicrafts and much more. There is a small play corner for children within sight and a large play and exercise room in the basement. In addition to the regular events, the premises are also used for other smaller events.

The meeting center is run by the Diakonisches Werk Dortmund. The aim is to give people in the district a space where they can meet, exchange ideas and develop.

"Everyone is welcome" has been the facility's motto since it opened in summer 2020. NebenAn is an important project as part of the "Socially Integrative City Westerfilde & Bodelschwingh" program and was financed with funds from the federal government, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Dortmund.
