This is us
The Dortmund Derne Beekeepers' Association was founded in 1848 and is a member of the Dortmund District Beekeepers' Association. We currently have 35 members who look after around 200 bee colonies.
As the Dortmund Beekeepers' Association, we see ourselves as ambassadors for the bee. Our task is to protect bees and to prepare future beekeepers in the best possible way for species-appropriate beekeeping and to provide them with long-term support.
Our aims
To foster a love of bees and promote modern beekeeping. The protection and preservation of a healthy environment and nature, the promotion of proper beekeeping and beekeeping is an important goal of the Dortmund Derne Beekeepers' Association.
At various events, such as the Beekeeping Day, we give interested parties an insight into beekeeping and, of course, promote beekeeping as a hobby. We want to make a contribution to nature conservation and biodiversity through the comprehensive pollination services of our bees.
What we offer
One focus is the supervision and support of new beekeepers through our basic training courses. By attracting and supporting new members, we want to increase the number of bee colonies in our region.
Would you like to start beekeeping or gain a deeper insight into beekeeping? Then our beekeeping course is just right for you. Over the course of an entire beekeeping year, we will teach you all the knowledge and skills you need to get started.
