This is us

The Catholic parish of Mariä Heimsuchung is part of the North-West Dortmund pastoral network and comprises the districts of Bodelschwing, Westerfilde and Dingen with around 4,000 Catholics. Our Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary is located on Rohdesdiek and is adjoined by a spacious parish center (including rooms for youth work). The vicarage, the parish office and the Catholic kindergarten are also located on the site.

Our aims

As Christians, we shape our lives in a relationship with God, who has called us into being. We do this in community in order to strengthen each other and help shape the world in which we live (from the district to the whole of creation). In addition to worship services and services to proclaim our faith, social and charitable projects and community-building activities are important to us.

In addition to the work of full-time pastors (pastoral team), our parish thrives on the active commitment of many volunteers in the various projects and groups.

What we offer

The main services at the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary are held weekly on Saturday evenings at 5.00 pm and on Sunday mornings at 11.30 am. There are also various church services during the week.

The various parish groups (from children's and youth work to the senior citizens' groups) invite you to their own events, which have developed into diverse annual programs. The spectrum ranges from religious, cultural and educational activities to social gatherings and excursions.
